Ashwagandha has been called ‘Indian Ginseng’ as it is used in Indian Medicine in much the same way that Ginseng is used in Chinese Medicine.
The root of this plant has been used as a restorative tonic across much of India for almost 6,000 years. Today Ashwagandha is prized for its adaptogenic properties, which have been extensively researched. It is often used to help the body during times of physical and emotional stress. This herb is valued for its ability to strengthen physical and mental performance whilst reducing stress.
Ashwagandha is a source of iron, which contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. The phytochemicals within Ashwagandha are Withanolides; these appear to effectively reduce anxiety and tension and increase well-being.
This herb is a beneficial male sexual tonic. Stress can negatively impact male sexual performance. Studies suggest Ashwagandha may improve semen quality and erectile issues.
Lily & Loaf Ashwagandha (KSM-66®) has been developed over 14 years of research to provide the highest quality extract.
Stress will affect most of us sometimes, and it can have a profound mental and physical effect on our bodies. When we experience stress, our adrenal glands produce hormones that influence blood flow, immune response, digestion, and other functions. Long term, or chronic, stress can lead to a host of physical ailments. Adaptogenic plants help the body resist stressors of all kinds, helping lessen the impact of stress.
